Udawalawe Sri Lanka

The Udawalawe National Park is one of the most visited in Sri Lanka, spanning an area of 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq. mi) and located on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces. The parks unique location places it in-between the islands wet and dry zones and though the park comprises primarily of plains, a few mountainous regions can also be found within its boundaries. An abundance of species has been recorded within the park, this includes 94 plants,21 fish, 12 amphibians, 33 reptiles, 184 birds (33 of which are migratory), 43 mammals and 135 species of butterflies.
