Deep South

The Deep South begins primarily after Thalpe and continues all the way up to Hambantota. The area is easily accessible for the most part, especially from Colombo through the southern highway either via private or public transport. The principal areas of interest to visitors lie along the coastal belt, with a host of impressive bays and beaches.Amenities are available at every price point, with a variety of recreational activities for all ages. The further south you go, the more rural the landscape, with a slew of rustic fishing communities dotting the shores, intermingled with stretches of surprising opulence. The ocean isn’t the South’s only attraction, venture further inland and you will find a score of quaint little villages, lush beautiful countryside, numerous historic sites, cultural hubs and some of the most welcoming people you’re likely to encounter anywhere.
